Gentlemen's Gentlemen
Celebrating the Gentlemen

On June 22, 2019, at 3:00 pm, we will present Celebrating the Gentlemen, a tribute show honoring Gentlemen’s Agreement, the 1971 International Barbershop Harmony Society Gold Medal winners, and specifically its lead, our own Drayton Justus -- a man who has, for nearly 60 years, served the Barbershop Harmony Society as a performer, chorus director, valued mentor and international president.

We would like YOU to be among the performers for this show by joining

Gentlemen's Gentlemen

This special chorus is being formed specifically for this show and is open to all BHS members. Under the direction of Jay Hawkins, two-time International quartet gold medalist, you will have fun singing some great songs and helping salute some true heroes of our Society.

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Send an email to, including:
    • your first and last name
    • your cell phone number
    • your chapter
    • your voice part
      • Note for the ladies: These arrangements are for a men's quartet/chorus. In ladies' arrangements, a given part is generally pitched 4 or 5 steps higher. This may affect what part you would be comfortable singing, depending on your range. You aren't locked into a choice, but it is advisable that you look at the music when we send it to you, to determine if you chose correctly.
  2. You will receive instructions on how to download the sheet music and learning tracks for four (4) Gentlemen’s Agreement songs:
    • Ma, She’s Making Eyes at Me!
    • My Way
    • My Wife the Dancer
    • Ring Out the Bells in Dixieland
  3. Prepare your music to be "off the paper" by April 13.
  4. Come to a full day rehearsal on April 13 in Marietta, GA, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Lunch will be provided.
  5. Come to a full day rehearsal on May 11 in Marietta, GA, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Lunch will be provided.
  6. On show day (June 22), arrive at the Byers Theatre (in Sandy Springs) a little early for a short rehearsal before the show.

You will be provided a complimentary ticket so that you can see the parts of the show in which you aren’t singing. Gentlemen’s Gentlemen will sing near the end of the show, and will also participate in the Finale, singing "My Way" with all the performers (we’re expecting about 200 singers in total). Come be one of that 200, have yourself a real fun time, and honor and celebrate Drayton and the Gentlemen’s Agreement.

We will be limiting the size of Gentlemen’s Gentlemen to about 80 singers, so get in early to reserve your spot on the risers.
