The Barbership Harmony Society is our parent organization. Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, BHS organizes and coordinates the activities of the barbershop chapters and districts around the world.
The Barbershop Harmony Society is organized into 16 districts. Our own Dixie District covers six southeastern United States, including Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
We are happy to support our quartets. Members of these quartets have also been (and may still be) members of the Big Chicken Chorus. And some of our members are married to members of women or mixed quartets.
Another large and popular chorus in the Atlanta area. This chorus won the Dixie District championship in March, 2000. The Big Chicken and Stone Mountain chapters have shared the show (and contest) stages on several occasions. We freely exchange our talents with our brothers in harmony across town, whether it be vocal coaching, quartet membership, or helping backstage on each other's shows.
Atlanta's newest Atlanta-Area male barbershop Chorus. This chorus won the Dixie District championship in March, 2005. We freely exchange our talents with our brothers in harmony across town, whether it be vocal coaching, quartet membership, or helping backstage on each other's shows.
This Sweet Adelines International Chorus (with nearly 150 members) is the one of the largest chapters in their organization. Our sisters in harmony, directed by Becki Hine (wife of our director), perform some of the most dazzling numbers you have ever seen.
The Georgia Connection, a chapter of Harmony, Inc., officially chartered on February 9, 1997. In the last four years they have had an amazing time performing at various sites around Atlanta, and have also enjoyed attending their Area and International Contest and Conventions.
BABS is an associate organization of SPEBSQSA. The Big Chicken Chorus recently performed at the BABS convention. And one of their choruses (with quartets) performed in a recent Christmas show in Atlanta.
