About Us

The Big Chicken Chorus was formed in 1986, as the Marietta Georgia Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, a Georgia 501(C)(3) Non-Profit Corporation. We are a male chorus that sings four part, a cappella harmony in the style of the close harmony sung by Barbershop Quartets.

The Chapter has adopted an enthusiastic program that includes music education, participation in Society competitions, youth outreach, and service to community. In addition, the chorus takes great pleasure in presenting its annual Singing Valentines program each February 14, a Spring show in April and our Christmas Show in December.

Our performances feature inspirational songs, patriotic songs, and a variety of songs from yesteryear. As our name might suggest, we are serious about having fun and providing an element of laughter and joviality in our performances.

Over the years, the Big Chicken Chorus has entertained appreciative audiences at the Atlanta Civic Center, Atlanta Symphony Hall, Centennial Olympic Park, the "Cobb County Jubilee Arts Alliance" series, Fabulous Fox Theatre, the Falany Performing Arts Center at Reinhardt University, the Georgia Dome, the Georgia Fine Arts Center, the Georgia Pacific "Art in the Heart" series, Jennie Anderson Theater, Marietta Performing Arts Center, Stone Mountain Park, the Rialto Theatre, the Robert Ferst Center at Georgia Tech, and most recently at the Lassiter Concert Hall. Some of our more memorable performances have been for the Georgia Music Educators Association in Savannah and for the IBM World Series Seminar in Atlanta.
