About Big Chicken Chorus

The Big Chicken Chorus was formed in 1986, as the Marietta Georgia Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, a Georgia 501(C)(3) Corporation. We are a male chorus that sings four part a cappella harmony in the style of the close harmony sung by Barbershop Quartets.

The Chapter has adopted an enthusiastic program that includes music education, participation in Society competitions, youth outreach, and service to community. In addition, the chorus takes great pleasure in presenting its annual Singing Valentines program each February 14 and our Spring and Christmas Shows in venues in and around Marietta, most recently at the Lassiter Concert Hall.

Our performances feature inspirational songs, patriotic songs, and a variety of songs from yesteryear. As our name might suggest, we are serious about having fun and providing an element of laughter and joviality in our performances.

Over the years, the Big Chicken Chorus has entertained appreciative audiences at the Fabulous Fox Theatre, the Atlanta Civic Center, the Georgia Fine Arts Center, Symphony Hall, the Georgia Dome, the Georgia Pacific "Art in the Heart" series, the "Cobb County Jubilee Arts Alliance" series, the Robert Ferst Center at Georgia Tech, the Rialto Theatre. The BCC has also performed for the Georgia Music Educators Association and for the IBM World Series Seminar in Atlanta.

The Chorus has also performed throughout the Southeast and in many of our nation's largest cities, including: Anaheim, Denver, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Louisville, Miami, Nashville, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, and San Francisco. The Chorus has also performed in Calgary, Alberta and Montreal, Quebec, and in Harrogate, England, as the guest chorus for the British Association of Barbershop Singers (BABS) national convention.

The Big Chicken Chorus is proud to be listed as a "Georgia Touring Artist" by the Georgia Council for the Arts, and receives funding and support from Georgia Council for the Arts, Marietta Kiwanis , Cobb EMC, as well as from the United Arts of Cobb, the Harmony Foundation, and other public & private donors.

Under the direction of Jonathan Riviere the future of the Big Chicken Chorus is bright, continuing the Chapter's proud tradition of pursuit of musical excellence and continuous improvement, all while keeping the Society's spirit of Brotherhood, Family, and Harmony alive and thriving!
